Flower Fairy and Friends Fiber Art Festival

  • The Democracy Centre 45 Mount Auburn St Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138 (map)

Join Feminist Fiber Art (FFA) and Follow The Honey (FTH) in Harvard Square to celebrate all the magical woodland creatures, bees, and other pollinators.

This little festival will take place at the Democracy Center and Follow the Honey's shop. Admission at FTH will be free, but there will be a suggested donation of $10-20 at the Democracy Center to fundraise for our causes (see below).

At FTH from ***1-9pm*** you can peruse their selection of bee products, honey, check out some fiber art, and enjoy some live music.

At the Democracy Center from ***3-7pm*** you can look forward to a little craft fair featuring miniature fairy home sculptures, embroideries of nature and fairies and bees, fiber flower vines, site-specific installations, fresh flower hair garlands for sale, honey fruit punch, a honey tasting, art activities, and a sustainable activity with beeswax.

We will be raising money for Feminist Fiber Art and Sweet Beginnings. FFA is a woman-directed artist collective and educational organization. FFA organizes exhibits and concerts, including benefits for women’s shelters and feminist charities, and supports artists by creating and sharing their work at local art markets and craft shows as well as on the internet.

Sweet Beginnigns offers full-time transitional jobs to citizens returning from incarceration in a green industry—the production and sales of all-natural skin care products featuring its own urban honey under the beeloveTM brand. The company manages apiaries (bee farms) throughout Chicagoland including in North Lawndale, at O’Hare International Airport, Roosevelt University Schaumburg campus, and the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Trailside Museum. We would like to bring this initiative to Massachusetts!

If you are an artist that makes art with this woodland/bees theme, if you would like to make fiber vine garlands or HELP US YARNBOMB Follow The Honey, or if you would like to volunteer, please message Feminist Fiber Art or email our coordinator Iris Nectar at
